What format are you trying to render to? Can you render to DV-AVI? Can you pre-render a small section around the area where it’s dying?

Yes I did but no joy I hade to re edit the wedding in the end as I could not find any way to open the file which by the way was edited origionly in vegas 6 and transfered to vegas 7 and can not now be opened in vegas 6 is this normal.

[THOMAS] “was edited origionly in vegas 6 and transfered to vegas 7 and can not now be opened in vegas 6 is this normal.”

Yes, this is normal. Once a file is saved in a newer version of Vegas, it cannot then be opened in an older version.

I’m having the same problem, but haven’t ever used anything but Vegas 5, so it can’t be the reason previously mentioned here (that once something has been edited with a later version, it can’t be opened with an earlier version).

In fact, I open Vegas, put single picture (jpg) in, and save it, then try to re-open it, and get that error message saying “An Exception has occured.”

What in the heck is going on? This has now cost me 2 full days trying to fix. and losing all my work.

    How large is the file?
Both it’s actual size and it’s pixel size.
It’s a well-known fact that Vegas doesn’t like JPEGs that are too large (eg. 5,000 x 5,000 pixels).

Also, try saving it as a PNG and see if that works.
