Hi I’m trying to make this tutorial but when comes the part that I need to “flatten the Sphere – Squish the heart flat, back to front, by changing the Z-depth I m complete lost.I’m new with Cinema 4D. I hope someone from here can help me out.

If you have made the sphere editable (c on keyboard) You can select the scale tool and drag only on the blue handle (z axis) and it will get wider or thinner.
