Help
Hello,
I am about to start cutting a 120 mins documentary. I have been an editor for a long time but I have never cut something that long and I have some concerns/questions.My main concern is the export of something that big. Will my machine be able to export in decent time, let alone play a reference movie that heavy?(I have FCP 5.1.4 on a 2.2 Dual PowerMac with 4.5gb of ram) And once done will I be able to compress it enough to burn a DVD? If not what is the best alternative other than making a miniDV tape? I have almost 4 Tb of space in 4 different HDs. I am planning to use 2 for storage and one for processing.
The format is DVCPro-HD most likely 720pi60. also I am gonna have a few different formats some are DV and others DVCPro 24p. Would it be best to edit on a 24p timeline so that FCP can add frames when needed or on a 60p?
Thanks
Paolom
