Hello Guys,
I just bought myself a AJA IO HD. Everything is just fine, works great but there is one big Problem where I Pleas need your HELP !!
My Setup: MacBook Pro 3,06 GHZ 15 ”
(this is the new MacBook Pro version without an ExpressCard slot)My Problem is :
As soon as I load XDCAM material in final cut, and start to edit (the material is on the External Storage)
my playback Starts to shake an the pic even stops.The External Storage is plugged in the MacBook Pro via Firewire 800. The AJA is plugged in the external storage.
But soon as I copy the Raw material on the mac HD and start to edit ti, it works just fine.
= it seems that the external HD is just too slow using it together on one port wit the AJA IO HD.
Is there another possibility to avoi this PROBLEM ??? Pleas I need your help .
The mac is just 3 months old / I don’t wont to buy a new one 🙂

Yes, it’s a problem. The iohd and FireWire storage can’t be on the same bus. Only the 17″ Mbp has fw 800 on it. Strange Apple decision.

yep I know, but how can I sole this problem. should i buy myself a ethernet external storage or a small server? PLS HELP

Ethernet will work if it will sustain about 45 MB/sec.

Easy, if you`re not sure what security files configuration and horsepower you need, borrow a unit of what you`d like to get, zero it out, prepare it, put it through it`s paces, then thoughtfully zero it out before you return it. Here`s what security filtering you need: none. You need no security file (filename) filtering to protect your files from yourself, do you?
