ive been trying for 3 days now to get sony vegas 14 to do the simplest of things and i guess it just cant…=(…all i want to do is make a video from pictures where the beat changes the pics…simple as that…i set the project to 134 BPM, then i go into options and set the picture length to the 478 that the bpm to seconds calculator tells me to set it to and its always the same result…..the first 2 or 3 pics line up with the best and then as the video goes on the pics drift from the beat and go completely off beat….im about to rip my hair out….can someone please tell me how to get vegas to understand this simplest of projects??….lol

heres a screencap that illustrates whats going on…you can physically SEE the pics drifting off of the timing of the beats…

You are thinking like a musician. Think like a video editor now.

Lets say you want to upload this to YouTube:

Create a new project that from a built in profile: HD 1080-30P (29.97 frames pre second)

Drop your photos on one timeline, and music on another. Adjust the in and out points for each photos. Holding CTRL+ ALT helps move the position (CUT) between each photo.

Export the file to .MP4 and upload to YouTube:

Check the “= Match Project” Settings and select a profile displayed in your window.

so in the end i will still have to adjust each picture to change with each kick drum hit, that is what i was hoping to avoid using math timing because ittl take forever to doit that way ☹ . this is the best i could make it so far but as you watch the pics change you can tell it drifts from the beat ——–> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apCfL5njRZg

Yep. Now you see how much work goes into a 2 min quick cut professional music video.

There is a Good and then there is good enough. Depends on your project requirements.

oh wow lol ok then guess ill have to make an afternoon of it….i just thought that if the beat was 134 BPM and each kick occurred 0.478 apart that i just had to resize the pic lengths to 0.478 each and they would just match up to the 134 BPM of the kick drum but unfortunately it doesn’t =(

.478 doesn’t sound right. 60/134 = .44776… call it .448, but then correct for some drift. Assuming no fades …

    Calculator problem?

I was just telling my friend about this, and thought this might work for your video. You might try it and see if it works. Watch the whole thing or jump to 7m30s

This is built into Win10, if you have fall creators update installed.
