    Hi there,

I’ve done a model of a cartoon heart. I started with a cube in a symmetry object. Placed them next to each other, then put inside a hypernerbs. I then added weight to some of the edges to get the bloating effect, and moved the bottom poly inwards to make the whole thing smaller at the bottom. Then just a taper deformer to pinch the bottom a bit.

It’s cool, however, there is the line which runs down the middle of it. Is there anyway I can get rid of this?
    Have posted the scene file……..

    it’s R12.

    Many thanks!………..

to get the Symmetry object to weld the seam to two halves have to have an open edge right on the join and not be complete objects the occupy the same space. Having said that it’s not easy to do the cartoon heart with a symmetry object (maybe that’s just for me). I found it easier to use a sphere.

you’ve got a lot of lathe nerbs and things going on there. But going straight from a sphere worked best?

Would you be able to share the techniques you used to achieve the shape in the hypernerbs? 🙂

I’m new to modeling as I’m sure you can see, and would really appreciate the details of the steps.

    Many thanks 🙂

the extra stuff that’s hidden was just various tests. I’ll do something but I’ll have to figure it out again, I did that 3+ years ago. It’s not hard though, I just don’t (yet) remember exactly what I did (and there has to be more than one way)

Yes definitely, there must be a few ways. I first went down the road of splines and nerbs, but I think what you achieved with the modified sphere hits the nail on the head. Thanks for sharing!

here’s another from longer ago with a parametric sphere and a Taper and FFD deformers.
