I’m did some repair work to the side of a barn in Photoshop using the Heal feature in CS2. THere was some junk hanging on the side i didn’t like. I’m going to be shooting some footage of the barn and was interested in doing the same thing. Is there a similar feaure in AE that i can use or am i going to need to go frame by frame in Photoshop?

Sometimes photoshop effects work in AE, but I’m not sure about the heal tool.

I’m pretty sure you only have a tool similar to stamp in AE, I don’t know if that will help you?

What I do to simulate it is duplicate the layer, garbage mask the problem area. on the dup, blur it heavily or use a median filter so the problem gets blurred out and the color of the surrounding area is more prominant. Then try either the ‘lighten’ transfer mode or the ‘darken’ transfer mode on the top layer – depends if the offensive thing is darker or lighter than the surrounding area. If you get it rights, only the offensive part will be replaced with the color of the BG.
