headphones
Hi Ty and all. I currently use a SD 302 and Sony 7506 headphones. I also supply the same to camera operators I work with , insures we are monitoring with the same quality. My question is I would like to had more headphones for others to listen on the set. How would I do this ? I see Sound Devices makes a HXE headphone monitoring unit but in reading the specs on it it says it only takes a line level signal. Since I send a mic level to some cameras at times I don’t think this would work. Any ideas or solutions for me other than moving up to a 442 which I think has two outputs that can be set to line or mic?

Hello Tom,
A lot depends on where you want to be, on location where AC-power is not easily available of anywhere that AC-power is available.
The big guys use Comtek wireless IFB (interuptable feedback) systems. The mixer feeds the IFB transmitter and each person has their own wireless headset receiver.
Could you use your 302 tape level outputs to feed the ATI box below?
