    Hello all,

I installed Xpress pro 5.7 that I’ve been using on my HP 9440 onto an HP XW8200 workstation.

I open up a project on the WX8200 and notice that I’m missing the info that appeared under my “Production” heading” . I look at the list of headings available to me and the list is much short than the list I see on the HP 9440.

Xpress Pro installed on the 8200 does not have the “Production” heading listed. The name appears in the special bin view I saved but the information is missing.

Come to think of it I don’t think all the Bin Views I saved carried over to the new install.

    Thoughts? Thanks in advance

    David

Make sure you’re not in “Brief” mode.

    Thanks Job,

If by Brief mode you mean ‘Brief View’ then no. All of this is happening while I’m in the bin’s Text View setting.

Custom views are a user setting. How did you migrate your User Profile to the new machine ?

    Hi John,

Thanks for the reply. I migrated the settings two ways. I exported them from inside Avid and also copied the settings folder from the Users folder – which has the .avs, .ave, files – to the 8200 . Does that sound right?

On the 8200 running 5.2 when I opened up a bin a dialogue box comes up telling me, in effect, that the bin contains information that is not relevant to the project.

My laptop had been upgraded to Xpress pro 5.7. My install discs installed 5.2, Perhaps this version difference is the root of the problem. I’ll be installing the upgrade.

Open to any other suggestions as well.

    Cheers

I am more familiar with media composer and symphony. Perhaps there is some limitation in Xpress Pro that I am unaware of. or perhaps it’s the version.
