I have a 3D camera track from walking down a corridor, turning a corner (roughly 90˚) and then continuing down that corridor. AE does the track perfectly, my problem is that I’ve been using the ‘roll’ from the camera track to stabilise the roll in the shot. This is fine for straight lines but as soon as the corner is turned the orientation values go super crazy with x and z orientation values doing some weird counterbalancing act. The camera is pointing in the perfect direction but getting a simple z ‘roll’ value is impossible.

I’ve done a lot of searching and tried every kind of space transform for extracting only the z rotation of the camera but it has me totally stumped.

    any ideas really appreciated…
