Is the VFW codec ‘Blackmagic HD 8 bit 4:2:2 Codec’ with the fourcc ‘hdyc’ identical to the QuickTime codec ‘Blackmagic 8 bit (2Vuy)’? Will it be right to take the HD essence encoded in 2Vuy out of a QuickTime mov and put it into an AVI with the fourcc ‘hdyc’? I am looking for a simple way to transcode a 2Vuy MOV to an AVI.

    Hi Rajeshr,

“hdyc” is the fourcc of that format. 2Vuy is the fourcc of the 8 bit QT format. I am not sure what you are wanting to do exactly with the 2Vuy clip? If you could give us some more detail on what exactly you are trying to do – we can assist you further.

    Cheers,

    Regards,
