Well I must not be one of the lucky ones. I was told that there would be two shipments in the month of August. I haven’t seen squat. Does anyone from Panasonic actually read this board??? Seems like everything gets quiet when delivery dates come up. What’s the deal??? Can anyone give me some sort of date? I’ve been told that I would have my camera in a week….for over a month.

I heard a very few cameras were delivered last week. Like one per dealer or such. There are supposed to be a few more this week but, not many again. I heard if you were to order one today it might be two months before you see it.

Yes, I think mine was the only one delivered to Abel last week. My feeling is that they have really no idea how many or when a shipment is due until a couple of days prior.
It’s worth the wait though. Any SDX users will feel right at home. Todays find…”Line Mix”…6db of gain with no noise or image lag. Not really sure how this works or what the trade off is but I am sure it will come in handy.

I have had only a short time to play…but my feelings are what I had hoped for . An SDX with more control and HD. I have loved the SDX and this appears to improve upon that camera. I will report back with more thoughts after Labor day. I will be testing a Firestore with it early next week.

It would be nice if someone from Panasonic would give some sort of reasonable time frame. Silence is not helpful.

I don’t know but you must have a short memory; this is exactly how Panasonic handled the “timely” roll out of the HVX200. They delivered just a few units on the promised date (before the end of 2005) and it took several months or more to accomodate the backorders. I wouldn’t expect anything different.

The fact is that it’s a very tricky matter of manufacturing a product as complex as a professional camcorder and even a giant corporation like Panasonic has its hands full doing so. There have been other efforts by smaller companies (like Kinetta) that have taken years and still have not delivered a product. Still others like RED which is supossedly well endowed by Oakley is still struggling to bring a product to market. They don’t call such products the “bleeding edge” for nothing.

You must be patient, the HVX900 will eventually arrive and some will be pleased (especially by the price) and others will be disappointed by other factors.

I’m not sitting in my bedroom twittling my thumbs, I’m running a business, planning production with larger agencies and the camera was promised over a month ago. I’m not anxious just for the fact of playing with it, we have work to do.

Who did you order your camera from?

I’ve been told the US is only getting 50 units, and I was able to play with 3 of the units this monday. One of which is back at panasonic because it was not reading the setup card. Latest news is the cameras should deliver at the end of Sept, even early October.

Taylor, where did you get yours from?
