    Hello all,

I am looking at renting an HDX 900 for a client and they need SD-SDI out of the camera with embedded audio, is this possible or is it a tricky thing to do with the HDX?

    Thanks so much,
    Jim

SD SDI is quite possible out of the camera… it is controlled by a switch near the audio settings, for the video out BNC.

Audio is embedded in the data stream. Timecode is not embedded in the data stream, so be aware of that gotcha.

I use SD SDI out of my HDX900 when recording SD files into a NanoFlash recorder. It works well, save for the lack of timecode out of the SD SDI stream.

    Cheers.

    Hi Scott,

I have heard about the lack of TC, thank you for that. I am new to the SDI out with embedded audio feature. Very nice. I did a SD-SDI output to Argentina from Vancouver BC yesterday…all good with the HDX. Very impressed with it.

Thanks for taking the time to respond,
    Cheers,
    Jim
