    hello all,

i dont know if this is the right forum…
i just wanna know if it is possible to connect a HDW-750 camera to a DVW-A750P deck via sd-sdi, to make a digi-beta dub of the hdcam tape. the important thing is to keep the original timecode, because we wanna make the offline-cut with the digi-beta material. the only thing i know is, that the HDW-camera has a BNC-Timecode out, but “understand” the DVW this timecode? is this a tri-level Timecode?

thanks a lot in advance, i hope you can help me…

    have a nice day,

    michael

SDI whether HDSDI, or SD SDI carries all video, audio, and timecode. Think of it as firewire on steriods. If you have a SDI downconvert card in the camera and set the A500 to SDI in for video and audio, and set the TC to external, regen, you should be set to go.

I use SDI to dub downconverts all the time between my HDW2000 HDCAM deck and A500 Digibeta. I have checked the SDI path from my 750 camera to either deck as well, but that would only be used under duress. The camera is really not designed for longterm playback use.

    Hope that helps,

    Bill

Also make sure that you are using a matching framerate 🙂
