HDW-500 Output error message from FCP
I have been trying to output a HD Sequence in Final Cut Pro via a Blackmagic Card. My sequence has been set to Blackmagic 1080i 59.94 8-bit. When I look at the out via SDI on the luma I see picture. When I do EE on the deck I see picture and audio getting to the deck. When I go to Edit to tape and insert the sequence via remote, the deck punches incorrectly and records but to black and no audio. The deck has not been set to BB on the internal video signal generator and the reference is on input video. The error message that occurs says inconsistent emphasis. Thank you for your help!

Check menu option 806 for audio emphasis. I believe it should be set to OFF when using digital audio (aes or sdi) and ON for analog audio. This is probably only a piece of the puzzle. I don’t use blackmagic or fcp so someone else will have to chime in.

problem was with the decklink…had to be set to SDI 720p to 1080i.
