    Hi,

I have a problem with not being able to print my HDV sequence to HDV tape. Here is my setup and workflow:-

    FCP 5
    Dual 2.7 GHz G5 2.5GB
BMD Decklink HD Dual Link Card

I used the BMD 1080i 50 HDV easysetup to digitise all 8 hours of footage which I have cut very sucessfully on the FCP while monitoring the HD analogue component output on an HP 23″ HD display. The final destination for the project is HDCAM – which would be fine – but in the meantime I need to make an HDV approval version.

For this I duplicated the sequence and made the AV settings HDV. When I select print to tape, FCP conforms the HDV stream and just as it’s about to play out it reports an error on playback due to dropped frames.

The problem is that I can see the system hasn’t even tried to output to the deck before it reports this to me – any ideas what i’m doing wrong??

    Many thanks,

    Paul

You need to render your timeline. Even though it is HDv in an HDV timeline, it needs to be rendered again.
