  HDV to standard def workflow for broadcast

  Hi,

  I am going to be onlining a show that was shot in HDV 1080i29.97.

  The OFFLINE editing was done in photo jpeg.

  I will need to uprezz all the footage and graphics and produce a final version for broadcast on standard definition (Digibeta).

  Any suggestions as to the best workflow?

  At what point should we convert the HDV footage to standard def 4:3? I am hesitant to do this during capture as I don’t know how the image will be cropped / positioned etc – I suspect some footage will have to be manually resized / positioned to make it work for 4:3.

  We are using Kona 3LH cards.
