Last year I shot a short in HDV. I am now in the process of backing up the files, not only onto DVD but just a DVCAM. I try “Print to Tape” from the Sequence but the image is interlaced and looks poor and the audio skips. I’ve tried converting the HDV to standard DV but the image quality is poor (especially the reds… they are blocky for some reason). I’ve also tried DV50 but that doesn’t work either.

Is there an easy way to convert HDV 1080i60 to SD that will keep the video quality at a higher level?
