HDV setups with FCP
Posted by Doug Moldawsky on March 16, 2007 at 9:58 pmI have some footage shot with a Z1 Sony in HDV. I haven’t been able to get final cut to accept any HDV settings to log and capture???? I can capture as standard def dv which arrives letterboxed from the camera. I’d prefer to stay in HDV mode throughout. ANy suggestions would be appreciated? Thanks, Doug

March 16, 2007 at 11:15 pmJust to be clear, have you tried capturing in HDV with the downconvert mode on the camera switched OFF?

March 16, 2007 at 11:31 pmThe downconvert options are for letterbox, squeeze, and edge crop, but not off….?

March 16, 2007 at 11:54 pmThe camera either outputs DV or HDV – you need to set the output to NOT downconvert – simple as that.

Sony has to have their own name for everything. 🙂
