I was wondering if anyone has experienced the following problem when trying to render HDV in FCP 5:

I adjust the speed of the clip, pretty long (28 mins) to 8000%, speeding it up for a timelapse. When I render the clip, it retains the red line above as if nothing has been rendered at all, although the dreaded “rendering” box appears for 9/10 minutes…

Is FCP losing my render files or is this a HDV problem. I’ve tried it with numerous clips, same thing happens…

    Oh, its 1080 at 50i.

    Anyone know about this?

Sounds like a case for trashing prefs to me. When rendering starts getting wierd it often means prefs are messed up. Give it a shot and see if it makes a difference.

I’ll second that reccommendation. I recently did a timelapse of about 20 minutes of footage to a 5 second clip in an HDV timeline and didn’t have any problem. If trashing prefs doesn’t work, maybe try exporting the speeded up footage to its own quicktime file. Good luck.
