So the project was shot HDV 1440×1080 23.98fps (1080p24). It was edited in FCP on a sequence with the same settings.

So now we need to export to tape – SD 29.97.

What is the best way to do this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Amy

Simply connect the appropriate deck to your capture card & set your card to downconvert.

Assuming you have an HD capture card and access to the appropriate deck…

    or…

Nest your HDV sequence in an SD sequence. Pan and Scan to taste, then Render like mad.

    Thanks!

    My next question-
Which settings should I use for my SD sequence going to miniDV?
    720×480 NTSC DV (3:2)?
    640×480 NTSC (4:3)?

    720×480 NTSC DV.
