    These edits are killing me!

I’m just finishing up a job on a 24″ intel mac that was shot on HDV. It was already rendered, etc. on another computer. Now I’m just fine-tuning it, but any changes that I make to a clip in the timeline (adding/taking away filters) don’t show up in the canvas.. only in the viewer which is a giant pain in the you know what. On top of that, the timeline still exhibits a blue line (rendered) when I know of course this clip needs to be re-rendered. Any thoughts?? I’m running 5.1.2

I’ve been seeing this problem on my PPC Mac with FCP 5.1.2 using DVCPro HD. I’ve had to to happen lots of times since yesterday. Hmmmmm…. I’m starting to think this version is unstable. Or it could be OS 10.4.8 or Quicktime 7.1.3. I don’t know….

It’s not just an HDV problem. I’ve had that happen with DV projects as well. The only thing that works is to dump your render files and re-render. It’s a pain but the only way to make sure your timeline changes are properly represented. I’ve posted about this before and only a hand-full of people reponded. It completley kills the work flow. It’s definitely a glitch.
