    Hi there,

I’m having trouble getting hdv shots rendered out of AE to playback in FCP.

When I playback the shot in the viewer or timeline it only plays for 2 seconds before dropping a few frames then stopping dead. The datarate for the shots output from ae is 3mb/s (there ain’t no audio track – tried rendering audio and it makes no difference.)

In ae8 i’m using source hdv footage captured from tape, doing my effects and rendering pal hdv settings. 1440X1080i50. I know the field dominance is upper, but rendering with this or without doesn’t stop the problem from happening.

Back in FCP A still frame looks good, right aspect ratio correct colours, same frame dimensions. i’ve checked my effects shot in the browser has all the same attributes as the source footage and sequences.

I could render out using an animation codec then render that into the timeline, but being hdv footage that takes forever. (I know I take a quality hit using hdv codec but) I want to be able to put my effects shot in the timeline and play it…

Any suggestions as to what maybe stopping the effects shots playing?

    Thanks in advance,
    Rob
