I captured a bunch of HDV clips and noticed that the aspect ratio does not look proper in the viewer and when I drop them into an HDV timeline they require rendering. I then checked them out using F9 “item properties” and see that the Pixel Aspect is NTSC-CCIR601. If I change the Pixel Aspect to HD(960×720) then they seem to work properly.

    My questions:

Is it ok to do this on all of them and will that solve the problem?

Is there a way to change them all at once, rather than selecting each one individually as clip?…I have hundreds to change?

    Thx

Sounds like your sequence settings and capture settings are set differently. You may want to change your sequence settings to match your capture settings. Also, better look at your footage on an external monitor before thinking that your footge doesn’t look right.
