I have a music video project shot in HDV 24p that I need to convert for DVD on the European market. I’ve been trying different ways now for three days but still no good results. The Quicktime file is 1440×1080 at 23.98fps and I need to put out a file that will play as PAL Widescreen. Anyone with experience in authoring PAL DVDs from an HD NTSC format? Any help is greatly appreciated /Jay

What we would do is downconvert to NTSC anamorphic and send that through an Alchemist Platinum to create a PAL anamorphic master usable for 16×9 DVD encoding. That is not an inexpensive process.

Will the down conversion to NTSC result in 29.97fps? later to be converted to 25fps? Is the audio able to stay in sync throughout this process? Thanks /Jay
