HDV memory dynamic ram page file memory issue
Ok here it is:
System:
Quad Core QX6700; 2GB RAM; 400Gb media hd; 160 GB RAID primary; Dynamic Ram Preview Set to 16 (tried 1024; 0; 64)Project:
15 min. project. HDV .m2t files roughly 70 clips…When I try to add clips it began only bringing the audio in… Add another clip it may bring video but it turns red for the thumbnail preview… Then it will say an error occurred and then closes Vegas…
I believe for some crazy reason this is a memory allocation issue… Page file is set to be managed by Windows. However tried 10Gb and 0Gb.
The issues seems to come up when the Commit Charge Peak (2,148,944) rises above or gets close to the Physical Memory total (2,094,676)…
Does this sound crazy? I am racking my mind trying to examine my system and Vegas to come up with a reasonable solution…
Any thoughts or ideas? What is the commit charge peak? How do I manage that? Could that be the issue?

Used Cineform to convert to AVI’s… Works fine…
I believe Vegas some how caches the M2T files so that they can be readily played because of the GOP’s… I believe it just begins to eat memory untill Windows will not let it eat any more (2Gb)…
Just an FYI beware of the pain of the M2T files…. Convert em… Do something because God knows you can’t hardly edit them in a large project…

Are you using Vegas 7? It handles m2t files just fine.

Yep. Vegas 7…
It handles them just fine up to a certain point…. Then it starts freaking out…
