  • HDV ‘live’ capture now

    Hi
I want to capture HDV footage ‘live’ via firewire using my Z1.
I have all my AV settings set to HDV (as it will not allow me to have a none controllable device).
I see the camera picture in the capture window but when I go to ‘capture now’ it captures every time for 6 frames and then says ‘capture was aborted due to timecode break.’

I have unticked the following in my preferences:
    Abort EPT/PTV on dropped frames
    Abort capture on dropped frames

And on timecode break I have it listed ‘warn after capture’
I also have the unticked in the clip settings tab of the capture window ‘create new clip on Start/Stop.’

What else should I be doing if this is even possible in HDV mode???
    Many many thanks
    Andrew

It’s been a while since I’ve done this, but as I recall I had to start recording to tape first, then hit the Record Now.

I should be able to check this later today and get back to you.

    Cheers,

Andrew- You must have a dedicated firewire bus for HDV. No other firewire device can be active on the same bus. If you need an additional firewire bus buy an inexpensive PCI card.
