    Hi,

Some time ago, I posted a question about HDV editing using BMD presets. I’ve done some further investigation and need some help please. If I capture HDV, I notice that the colour is vibrant and full of contrast. Now, if I convert this to a BMD avi (uncompressed, 8 or 10 bit) it seems to loose some of its saturation and contrast – as if a 5% grey/white is added to it. The issue is that I WANT to use the BMD presets as HDV looks pretty terrible on the titles etc BUT if I do use a BMD preset, then you notice this drop in contrast/saturation on the rendered files – where they go from pure HDV files to BMD rendered files. I guess I’m wondering why you loose saturation/contrast when converting an HDV file to a BMD one? It seems a shame to loose the nice contrast and saturation….Help!
