I have a project with both HDV and DV Cam material. Project and sequences set to DV Pal (i am in the UK) and I want to import my HDV material into this project. So far I have captured the material into a separate new HDV project. Camera (Canon XLH1 has a down convert selection) but I think there must be a better way. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

Yeah – this is the best option if you want to work at DV – just set the camera to downconvert and capture at DV over firewire.

I don’t know how good is the downconversion from the camera. But having all the stuff already captured in HDV, I just would treat it as DV footage. At least with FC6 will work without problems mixed in the same time-line.
You just need to drag and drop the footage bins from the HDV project Browser to the DVCam one.
