HDV ingest through HDMI

I’ll be working with a hdv deck with an HDMI output.
and I was wondering…
Do you lose any type of information (quality) ingesting through HDMI?any difference between hdmi and hd sdi?

HDMI does not carry any timecode or RP188 flagging info.gary adcock

Not quite,
HDMI does not carry any timecode or RP188 flagging info. “And they’re spelled differently.
