    Hi…
I’ll be working with a hdv deck with an HDMI output.
    and I was wondering…
Do you lose any type of information (quality) ingesting through HDMI?

any difference between hdmi and hd sdi?

    thanks…

My understanding is that both HDMI and HD SDI are the same digital signal with no bandwidth limitations on your HDV source.

[Michael Gissing] “My understanding is that both HDMI and HD SDI are the same digital signal with no bandwidth limitations on your HDV source.”

    Not quite,
HDMI does not carry any timecode or RP188 flagging info.

    And they’re spelled differently.

    Sorry, lame comment.
