HDV in FCP 4.5
An associate has brought in some video he shot on his Sony HDR-FX1 and wants to edit it on FCP.
We have FCP 4.5 and AJA Kona 2 with BOB.
My recollection is that HDV-native editing in FCP is only possible with ver 5.0 or higher.
Is that right? Is there any way to bring in the signal through the Kona 2 and convert it to something I can work with?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Didn’t imovie do HDV first? Maybe iMovie could import and export it as something you could use. Not a great solution but if it’s not critical enought project to pay a few hundred bucks to upgrade FCP 5 it might be what you’re looking for.
