HDV in DVDSP
Hello all,
I just finished my first HDV edit and it looks great! I can’t recall 25 years editing anything with absolutely no video dropouts that had to be fixed until now, and it’s a 43-minute dropout-free video to boot!
I just have one question and sorry if it has already been answered a million times before. I couldn’t find anything via a quick search, but then again I might not have searched using the right keywords.
I did a 10-second test of an Export Using Compressor (using the DVD Best Quality 90-minute preset) of the P2 footage (960 X 720) and brought it into DVDSP. I made a simple menu in DVDSP and “built” it. Before the “format” process, though, I opened it up in DVD Player.
There, the simple menu looks to be 720 X 480 and, when I click to play, the video (and audio) starts as programmed in a 960 X 720 (16:9) shape. Although it looks to be 720 X 480 for both the menu and the video/audio clip in DVDSP’s Simulate mode, does it sound like I’m doing everything right to burn a SD DVD?
I am currently compressing the whole 43-minute project, but I thought I’d best check with all of you folks that have been there and know before I DVD-burn away!
Thanks in advance for your help,
