    HDV import problems

    For the past six months we have imported HDV into FCP 6.0.6 using a Sony tape deck (HDV compatible), but we don’t have full control of this equipment and someone reset something that we cannot figure out. When we import we get very muddy, pixelated footage. When we look at the item properties format it is

    720 x 480
    Compressor: DV/DVCPRO – NTSC

    Instead of our past footage (which looks great)

    1440×1080
    Compressor: HDV 1080i60

    Problem solved: Someone had changed the Sony deck (“link” in the menu) to convert HDV to DV.
