    Hello folks

I have had the immense pleasure of grading a feayure in HDV on FCP5. I realise now that we should have unpacked the conform and recaptured to HD Uncompressed 8 bit, but we didn’t. Anyhow, to make my life quicker for the various versions, i exported an 8bit Uncompressed file of the film to square ratio 1920x1080i codec.

The original footage was interlaced but this export seems to be field merged. This is no good and had forced me to approach it from a different way.

Has anyone else found this and sorted it?

Take a look at HDVxDV here: https://www.hdvxdv.com/ But you also might try using Compressor’s new advanced format conversions first. But you are going to do this to each clip right? Otherwise you’ll be spending a lot of time finding cuts in a single QT movie of the whole piece to change the CC from shot to shot if need be I’d think.
