    Hi

The HDV sequence I am editing needs to be taken to SMOKE for CC and other graphics work.

The smoke editor told me that he will need image sequence or a digibeta export.

    Digibeta is not an option.

So if I export it as an image sequence, what happens to interlacing?
Shall I deinterlace the video before exporting as an image sequence or let SMOKE manage it?

Any other precautions that I must take?

Nothing happens. Interlacing is maintained, you just get both fields together in one image. Smoke should handle that just fine. Don’t deinterlace, you’ll be throwing out half of your vertical resolution if you do.
