Follow up to last post…Shot footage with Sony ZU1, HDV1080i 60. We want to take it into the Kona LH card as HDV 1080i and then downconvert in the system to a 10 bit timeline that can go to Beta SP. What is the best way to do it?

    Thanks

I think the easiest way is to capture via Firewire and edit in a native HDV sequence and set the KonaLH in the control panel to downcovert.

    Hi-

You can also apply the downconverter on input during capture, and capture your HDV as 10-bit SD. Simply feed the KONA LH the HD component analog output of your HDV camera/deck, apply the downconverter to the analog input in the KONA Control Panel, and use a KONA LH 10-bit Uncompressed 525 Easy Setup. This way, you will have 4:2:2 10-bit uncompressed SD files to work with in FCP, etc. You can also capture it as DV50 or 8-bit uncompressed…whatever is best for your post workflow.
