Hi there, got a question. I have a Sony HVR V1U that records HDV 1080 24p with a 2:3 pulldown. I transcode the HDV upon capture to ProRez which removes the pulldown. I then close Final Cut and import the ProRez files into After Effects for effects work. My clip however always looks fat. I make a comp with the clip and it uses a custom HDV/dvcproHD (1.33) setting. I’ve played and played with it but it always looks fat. However when I export it and open in Final Cut it looks beautiful. Do I just need be happy that it ultimately works or is there a way to make it look correct while I’m working on it.

    Much Thanks,
    Gray

Thats it! It was the pixel aspect ratio button. Didn’t think of that. The image was squeezed, but now it looks great.

    Thanks again,
    Gray
