    I just got my super duper MacPro 8 core machine (3.0 Ghz w/ 7gigs RAM) into operation;
    loaded my brand new AE CS3 software and expected to see more than 8 secs of HDV
    footage in full res RAM preview. How naive!
    OR
    I am getting something horribly wrong and forgeting to set something in the prefs
    in order to preview a longer clip at full res?
    Could someone please illuminate me.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks Dave
    I think the 3gig limit is just the way things are . I spent some time trying out different combos of things only to come to the conclusion that full res isn’t the opimal way to view a comp of that frame size. 1/2 res is the way to go to get lengthier previews.

    Thanks again for your input.

    Best
