HDV choppy Playback?
Hi FCP guys. I have a question. I am trying to capture some HDV footage taken from a Sony HDR-HC1. This is the first time I am doing this and I’ve encountered some problems. I have a few questions first so let me get them out of the way.
1) For Capture preset should I be using HDV or HDV apple intermediate codec?
2) For Device Control preset should I use HDV firewire or Sony HDV Firewire?
Okay so when I caputre using the HDV cap preset it records audio but no video, and when I pull it up in QT it is blank white with audio only.
When I caputre using the apple intermediate codec. I can but it plays back in the viewer fine, but when it comes to playing a clip on the timeline it is slow and choppy, about 15 frames per second look. Is there something obvious that I’m missing. The sequence settings seem to match as well. I’ll post them if it seems to be the problem. I’m on an iMac G5 2ghz 2 gigs ram. Thanks
