HDV Capture Problems
I am having trouble when import HDV footage via my JVC BR-HD50. The footage is being imported but Final Cut is making multiple clips out of one capture. I only want one long capture so that I can edit in multicam. Any Ideas on how to tell it to only make one long clip?

Yeah, get a capture card and capture to another format. HDV breaks up the footage into multiple clips on the camera start/stop points. Because those start/stops break the HDV GOP stream. Or is that not the case…is this one long shot? Because you mention multiclipping, that is done with single long takes on multiple camera.

Are all your tapes reacting this way or is it just one tape?
If all your captured (multiple / individual) clips are the same size you might solve the problem by checking off the ‘Limit Capture / Export File Size To’ box located in System Settings>Scratch Disks.
You can also access this menu from your Log and Capture window under the Capture settings tab and clicking on Scratch Discs.
If the cameras were stopped at various times during the shoot it would be difficult to capture as one clip and edit in multicam mode unless each camera was on and off at the same time. Check to see what is selected under User Preferences in the field of ‘On Timecode Break:”
