    Hey guys,

I’m running FCP 5.1.4 and I can seem to get any HDV footage into my system. I’m using the Sony Z-1 to play the footage and tried the HDV easy set-yp and the Apple HDV east set-up. I can get deck control, but no Preview (I have a Blackmagic Card and have been to the website to figure out the preview issue, I just need an IT guy to do it cause they have the password)When i hit Capture Now it tell me it’s looking for data or cueing up and stops and tell mm there is in coming data or keeps cueing forever. Any suggestions?

I can get camera control but nothing gets captured

    George

Have you tried a different Firewire port? Or disconnecting any other firewire devices? Sometimes that helps.

Also double check your HDV deck settings that any kind of downconvert is turned off. If the i.link downcovert is on the computer picks it up as a DV signal not HDV.

Don’t jump to conclusions yet but I’ll level with you. i had this exact problem with 5.14 about a month ago and spend days trying to resolve the issue. In the end the only solution was ot downgrade to 5.1. Be sure to cover all your bases befroe jumping ot this conclusion though.
