Gosh, I feel left out. Two posts on the same issue, no responses.

If no one has a solution, does anyone know where I might find a solution? I’m not even sure Apple supports 5.1.4 any more. Any recommendations for an A-level technician at Apple who might be able to help? Any other advice?

I’ve got some time pressure here, so any responses would be much appreciated. I’d hate to have to use my PC for editing, but that’s what I’ll be forced to do if I can’t solve this problem.

    Hi Keith
In the log and capture window, the second tab at the top right, (Clip Settings) you’ll see a check box for “Create new clip on Start/Stop”. Be sure this is unchecked if you desire to capture the clip as a whole. I log quite a bit of HDV footage on a regular basis, and really haven’t had a problem capturing. We are using Sony Z1U HDV camera’s. Hope this helps

    Hi Tim,

Yeah, I’ve tried that. No dice.

Rafael, thanks for the link. It may be worth shelling out for the upgrade.

Isn’t the SONY EX-1 basically a glorified HDV codec?
    cheers, Pete
