  HDV Capture Presets in FCP 5.0.4

  Hi All,

  I am trying to capture 4 CH audio from a Canon XL-H1 into FCP 5.0.4.

  Does anyone know what settings to use to set up a Custom Preset?

  The capture preset for HDV can not be EDIT’ed or DUPLICATE’d.

  Although, capturing twice is not an efficient workflow, for now I would be happy if I could atleast capture CH1/2 on first pass and then select second pair and recapture a second time with CH3/4.

  I would prefer not to downmix to maintain control over each channel in FCP. If I wanted to do this, I assume I select “Digital In” and “32.000 kHz 16-bit 2-chan”.

  I am studying the Canon docs to see if the firewire output can be config’d for CH1/2 for CH3/4.

  Arrrrrgh.
