Trying to capture HDV video from hdv cam (jvchd100) to FCP Studio via Firewire. I am having a problem with either FCP subcliping for me and cropping out parts I need.

I turned off the create new clip on start/stop in the clip setting window.

I also went to user pref – turned off “abort on dropped frame” and “on TC break” (changed to warn after capture)

Now I continue to get stream problem warnings that abort the capture.

I really don’t think I have tape issues, brand new, clean head on cam, etc, and it does it to two different tapes.

Is there a work around for this? (I tried Non control device hoping it would just play and I could capture but says HDV deck and settings must match in preferences)

    Desperate, with deadline looming… Mike

I’ve also done the Pro Res switch talked about in the tutorials. This got me through one area but I still can’t capture as one large clip without FCP breaking it up for me.

New to FCP (from years on Avid) and I shoot a lot of HDV. I will need to be able to capture raw without this “clipping”.
