Everytime I try to capture HDV, it keeps pausing out in the middle of a clip. By the time the machine catches up again I have lost a few seconds.
It works fine on my laptop but not on my workstaion.
I have tried EVERYTHING – Really.
Used to work but doesn’t anymore.
Trashed prefs and user data – that worked last time it happened (well trashing prefs didn’t but User Data did) Different startup discs, different capture drives, different cameras, different tapes.
If I wasn’t bald already I’d pull my hair out!

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

    Hi Joe,

Dropouts (at least for me) show themselves in long takes as breaks in the footage. Also, do you have the “Create new clip on Start/Stop” box checked?

Sometimes it happens a minute in, sometimes it will go as far as 5min. I’ve done it with “Create New Clip” ticked and unticked. The trouble is it happens right in the MIDDLE of a clip. I wonder if it is some fire wire issue?
