HDV Capture and sequence codecs
Hey everyone. We just upgraded to FCP 5.02 from 4.5 and are about to work on our first project in HDV. What is the best codec to capture HDV footage in when I am coming in bia firewire? And what is the best codec to use with the sequence that I work in?
We work on a G5 with FCP Studio and a Black Magic Extreme. We capture to a GTech G Raid of 500 GBs.

if you’ve shot the footage at HDV 1080i60 then thats what you want to bring it in as. and if intend to stay in the HDV format then your sequence should also be set at HDV 1080i60.but do take a look at this document https://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/hdvxdv_wright.html by the developer of HDVxDV and DVDxDV … he has some interseting comments
