    Hi

I am getting a popup in Sony Vegas 8 when I connect the camera, that Sony HVR-A1P could not be opened. Please make sure that it is turned on and not being used by another application or user.

I have captured with this camera before, and I don’t think I did anything different but I need to get this footage off tape and it’s not happening.

    I am running Vista.

    Any ideas?

I’m not running Vista but I have a HVR-A1J, same thing but with optional Jananese menues and I can capture with Vegas 8. Try another capture app if oyu have one to see if it’s Vegas or not. I think Windows movie maker can capture HDV just to see where the problem is. Danny HAys

    Danny

I am also having problems with capturing with Windows. I am only offered 3 choices of capture, one of which is having audio and video in one stream, one is audio only and the other offers single clips only and I am not sure what format that winds up being.
