Hi all, I’d like to pick your collective brains about a problem that I’m having with some HDV footage I brought into FCP. I’m running FCP 6.06 on a MacPro with 10.5.8.

Trouble is, I brought the footage in under the HDV Easy Setup: Sequence Settings were 1080i, Capture Present HDV and Capture Template was HDV – Firewire, but the footage came in as DV/DVCPRO 720×480 instead of 1440×1080 like it should have. I did it like this for a WEEK before I realized there was a problem and now I have a 22min cut that needs uprezzing.

As you’ve probably guessed by now batch capturing HDV footage via firewire is a huge pain. I’ve media managed the cut, but the deck continues to think that the in’s and out’s are 1min or so from where they actually belong, and it’s not always consistent.

I’m using the Sony HVR-M15U for capture.

So far I’ve been manually recapturing each clip that needs uprezzing in the cut and it’s taking FOREVER.

Am I completely screwed or is there a workaround that I haven’t thought of yet. I have tried setting the firewire present to HDV – Firewire DF and that at least get’s the deck to come a little closer to finding the right TC, but that doesn’t really work either.

Any suggestions/criticism would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

    -Ken
