HDV aspect ratio problem
Hi There, I’m having some problems with rendering my HDV footage shot with an FX1.
I’ve been using Premiere Pro in the past for my SD work, but there is no plug in available for my version of premiere to work with HD, so I just bought Sony Vegas 6 Platinum edition.
This is my first music video, intended for broadcast, so it needs to be spot on.
I’m capturing the footage fine, and playing it back in windows media player looks fine too.
I need to take the shots into After Effects for compositing work, but this is where problems start. Here is how I render my footage:
1440×1080 50i, (I’m using PAL).
Pixel aspect ratio 1.333
.avi Cineform HDV codec.
Now the .avi files render, but when viewed in windows, or imported into after effects I’m getting a 16×9 vertically stretched image, when it should be horizontal to fill that widescreen shape.
Anyone know what I’m doing wrong ?
Cheers.
Steven.
