    Hey guys,

Hope your New Year is off to a great start. I filmed a friends wedding New Years day. It was beautiful. Copied it to my hard drive and started cutting a music video montage in Vegas.

Things were fine, then as I watched it start to finish I started noticing glitches in the video. Random black spaces a frame long here and there. Seemed to get way worse with certain clips when I would drag one clip over the other to dissolve. But separate them and the glitch would go away. I could trim the clip on the timeline and I wouldn’t see the black frame, but playing it back would reveal it.

Very strange. I remember this happening before with certain HDV footage in Vegas 8. It’s like the glitch would move around in the clip and on the timeline.

    Here’s the setup:

    Nikon D5000 DSLR AVIs
    Sony Vegas 9 32 bit & 64bit
    Quadcore desktop & Intel Laptop

Both systems, same challenge. Has anyone seen this before? Solutions?

    Thanks,

    Vince

Do you see these Glitches and random black spaces in the
    final render?

Yes. They do show in the render. As well as prerenders and ram previews.

Now I’m getting entire edited clips going black on the timeline. Wonder is it could be the media. This is too weird.

Are you using 9.0c? Also, if you are using 32bit see if it occurs in the 64bit version of Vegas. If it doesn’t, it sounds like a memory handling issue in one way.

In your Task Manager what do you see that is using your cycles? What about your page file usage? Does it steadily climb as you render or have your project open? Is your virus protection/spyware, etc. off? Anything else running in the background that could be leaching memory?
